Maanantai Vercelli, edelleen aurinkoista ja lämmintä.
Lähdimme ajaamaan pohjoiseen kohti Como järveä. Pieni pysähdys Comon kaupungin keskustassa mistä jatkoimme järven itäpuolta pitkin pohjoiseen. Matkalla oli useita tunneleita joten järveä näimme vain hetkittäin.
Järven pohjoispäässä pysähdyimme hetkeksi ottamaan muutaman kuvan ennenkuin aloimme kiivetä Alpeille. Alpit ovat todella vaikuttava näky sillä Como on n. 200 m yli merenpinnasta ja vuoret nousevat kuin seinä kilometrin korkeuteen.
Sveitsissä moottoritien vuositarra maksaa 38€ joten emme ostaneet sitä lyhyen läpiajon vuoksi ja pysyimme pienemmillä teillä ajaessamme Liechtensteiniin.
Sveitsissä kaikki on siistiä ja järjestyksessä, jopa ensimmäiset pellolla näkemäni lehmät olivat kuin sotilaallisessa ojennuksessa. Vuoristoteiden valumavedetkin johdettiin omaa viemäriä pitkin jotta ne eivät pääsisi sekoittamaan kirkkaiden purojen vettä.
Hieno mutta kallis maa, joten vain yksi kahvitauko ja suoraan Liechtensteinin pääkaupunkiin Vaduziin. PIeni tauko parkkipaikalla ihmetellen Renaultin pikkua autoa vai mikä senyt oikein onkaan.
Mika ja Jorma menivät läheiselle kioskille ostaamaan kylmää vettä ja tarroja. Ensin ei yhteistä kieltä löytynyt mutta taikasana Harrikka pelasti tilanteen. Selvisi että kioskinpitäjä rouvalla on oma Harley Davidson kuten myös hänen miehelläänkin. Ja löytyihän niitä tarrojakin vaikka ensin tarjottiin postimerkkejä.
Vielä pieni pyrähdys Itävaltaan jossa tarkoitus oli yöpyä Feldkirchin kaupungissa.
Ajoimme vanhaan kaupunkiin, pyörät parkiin ja nettihaku yöpymispaikoista.
Ei löytynyt budjettiin sopivaa joten palattiin vanhaan kunnon jalkatyöhön ja kävin Mikan kanssa kyselemässä lähialueen majoitukset heikolla menestyksellä.
Sillävälin Pekka oli tavannut parkkipaikalla paikallisen motoristin joka ystävällisesti soitteli useampaankin paikkaan.
Lopulta aivan korttelin toiselta puolelta löytyi tilaa siedettävään hintaan ja pääsimme suihkun kautta syömään.
Monday morning at Vercelli, yet sunny and warm.
We rode north towards Lake Como. Small stop at the city center of Como and then we continued on the eastern side of the lake where the road went throw several tunnels so we could see the lake only time to time.
At the northern point of the lake we stopped for a couple of photos before starting to climb up to the Alps. Alps are really impressive as the lake is about 200 m from sea level and the Alps really high.
In Switzerland we did not buy the 36€ highway sticker to be used just for some hours so we stayed on small roads on the way to Liechtenstein.
In Switzerland everything is clean and in order, even the first cows that I saw in the field where standing in a row like soldiers 😄
The water from the alpine roads is collected to a sewage system just to prevent it to be mixed with the bright water of mountain streams.
Fine and expensive country so only one coffee break and directly to capital of Liechtenstein Vaduz. A short stop at parking lot wondering the small city car of Renault or whatever it was.
Mika and Jorma vent to a close by shop to buy drinking water and stickers. First they did not have common language but after the magic word Harley-Davidson everything cleared.
They found out that the lady keeping the shop has a HD as well as her husband. And we got also the stickers instead of stamps that were first introduced to us.
Yet a small ride to Austria where we intended to stay over night in the city of Feldkirch.
We rode to the old town, parked our bikes and started internet survey.
No luck of places suitable to our budget so Mika and I started to walk around to ask near by places. No much better luck.
Meanwhile Pekka has met a local biker who was really helpful calling to several places that he knew.
Finally we found a place just behind the corner with a tolerable price, so we got to shower and the to eat!
